Indonesia's First Bartender and Barista Competition to Take Place at Beverage Wonders Championship 2025
JAKARTA - Denali Indonesia is set to host an exciting new tournament for bartenders and baristas across Indonesia. Titled
Beverage Wonders Championship 2025, the competition will take place on
April 15, 2025, with participants from all over the country. The event's opening ceremony will be held at
Artotel Senayan, Jakarta, for the Jabodetabek region.
According to Muhammad Zaki, the organizer of Beverage Wonders Championship 2025, this competition aims to enhance the skills of beverage professionals. "We want to bring something special for Indonesia’s bartenders and baristas, helping them sharpen their skills and elevate their craft," Zaki stated during a press conference on Thursday (February 27, 2025).
Competition Mechanics
The championship will feature
six levels of challenges, testing various aspects of the participants' abilities. Those who successfully pass all levels will advance to the
final round, where they will compete in a
bar speed challenge. Each city’s champion will receive a ticket to
Bali to compete in the
grand final scheduled for
September 2025.
"Finalists from each city will be sent to Bali free of charge. We want to ensure that participants can focus on the competition without worrying about additional expenses," Zaki added.
Grand Final Events
The grand final in Bali will span three days, featuring multiple sessions and challenges:
1.
Day One: Beverage Sharing Session covering
Product Knowledge and Basic Mixology, followed by the
Market Challenge, where finalists must shop for ingredients in a traditional market.
2.
Day Two: Sharing session on
managerial level topics, including
COGS calculation and Beverage Program development. The day concludes with the
Bar Speed Challenge, where participants have 15 minutes to craft as many well-balanced drinks as possible.
3.
Day Three:
Mixologist Challenge, where finalists must create two drinks—a
Mocktail and a Coffee Cocktail—that represent their home region. Contestants must also wear
traditional attire from their respective areas, accompanied by regional music.
"This concept is called
local hero, allowing participants to showcase their creativity while celebrating local culture," Zaki explained.
